Quick History
1999: Clinic opens, operating six hours/week in a temporary facility
2003: Operating hours expand to 40 per week
2004: Permanent facility opens at the site of a former neighborhood cantina
2005: Receives Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC) Look-Alike designation
2006: Clinic becomes home to the Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program
2007: Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC) Designation awarded
2008: Building expansion completed (DHDC and ACC)
2009: New Dental and Children's clinic in full operation.

Denver Harbor Clinic is a private, is a Federal Qualified Health
Clinic (FQHC) in Houston, providing quality health care to the
underserved. The staff of forty-two is lead by CEO Daniel Montez
and Medical Director Dr. Donald Briscoe.
Board of Directors
The following community members, philanthropists, and health &
business professionals serve on the Denver Harbor Clinic board:
Daniel Montez, Chief Executive Officer
Prior to founding Denver Harbor Clinic with other community
leaders in 1999, Montez held a number of executive positions in
healthcare management. He is the recipient of the 2006 St. Luke's
Leadership Award from St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities, as
well as the 2007 Mayor's Hispanic Heritage Award, in recognition
for his work in Denver Harbor.
Donald Briscoe, M.D., Medical Director
Board certified by the American Board of Family Physician, Dr.
Briscoe received his medical degree from the University of Virginia
School of Medicine. Prior to joining Denver Harbor Clinic, Briscoe
was in private family medicine practice in Virginia and was a full-
time residency faculty member and assistant residency director of
CHRISTUS St. Joseph Family Medicine Residency where he was
named Faculty of the Year in 2004.
Methodist Hospital's Family Medicine Residency Program
Denver Harbor Clinic is the primary care clinic for Methodist’s 12
family medicine residents, and three full-time faculty.
